Storytelling is germane to community development. Community agency ANCAD, based on Auckland's North Shore, needed a special place to share the stories coming out of it's Shore To Thrive program, developed in partnership with Takapuna Methodist Church.
Shore to Thrive, through various events, projects and initiatives, has had a significant local impact. Over 700 people in the Devonport Takapuna Area in 2016-17 have been involved.
Shore to Thrive has fostered:
- parenting training
- community dinners
- environmental care
- road safety improvements
- clothes share
- self care for mothers
- wellbeing assessment
- repair cafes
- youth mentoring
TGd assisted with basic identity development, and a simple wordpress site, with editor support.
